Compass officially launched the Compass Military Division, proudly making a commitment to serve those who serve our country. Founding Agent of Compass Denver Jessica Northrop is honored to be a Denver representative for the Compass Military Division.
The Compass Military Division services the distinctively different and ever-changing real estate needs of the Veterans and Active Military members via a national network of highly skilled and specially selected agents. All division members have military experience & success working with every aspect of the veteran home buying process and have extensive knowledge of the best-practices for how to engage military clients through ongoing communication and collaboration.
The Military Division also represents the first military division within a major brokerage in the United States and will be led by San Diego-based agent Todd Armstrong and Michael Nyland, an active duty Naval officer. It will be composed of Compass retired military agents, veterans, active duty members, military spouses, and agents with extensive VA transaction experience.
“We love the world of real estate and educating veterans and helping them out. I just want to be able to tie both of those passions together,” says Nyland.
Co-founder Todd Armstrong adds, “We have an education portion attached to it and it’s teaching veterans how to use their VA benefits to create wealth for their families. We know the military lifestyle. We know the home buying process. We know how to build wealth. So that’s what makes us unique and that’s what makes this division unique.”
Jessica’s extensive experience and knowledge base over her successful real estate career includes knowing the details, benefits and timelines surrounding military transactions. She also has a personal connection and patriotic pride in serving the men and women who have served us, as both of her grandfathers served in World War II.
Carlyle (Red) Gourley served in the Navy as a Midshipman in World War II while Dale Freeze Jr. served in the Army Air Corp in Germany in World War II as an air traffic controller.
“It is an extreme privilege to help our military members and families find a place to call home,” Jessica says. “Our goal is to give these clients every tool at their disposal during the process and make things as seamless as possible. We want to minimize their stress during a home transaction and move…often which occurs either from or to a different state.”
