Recently, we had the opportunity to be part of something especially meaningful: supporting the completion of a home for Heidi Nohemy Palma de Vasquez and her family. Hearing her story was a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

In the thank you video shared with us, Heidi described the difficult conditions her family had faced for years. Their previous living situation was vulnerable to heavy rain, flooding, and strong winds. She spoke about how the weather would affect their home and how, as a parent, she and her husband were always trying to figure out how to create something safer and more secure for their children. Her words were honest, emotional, and deeply moving.

What stood out most was her excitement and gratitude. She spoke about the joy of finally having a real roof over their heads and the feeling of seeing something they had hoped for become a reality. For Heidi and her family, this new home represents security, dignity, and a new beginning.
